Mrs. Ludwig's presentation today changed my mindset completely. Today Mrs. Ludwig talked to us about the law of success and some secrets to success to apply to our everyday outlook on life. The first thing Mrs. Ludwig shared was Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs to our class and it showed me all the steps that you need to be successful. The Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is a ladder to success, it shows you that you have to have the first step which is Psychological Needs to have the next step, which is Safety Needs etc. It showed me that most of the world is just on a hamster wheel in the red, orange and yellow and can't find a way out of it to reach green and blue which is when you reach success. https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/mcat/behavior/theories-personality/v/maslow-hierarchy-of-needs (this link takes you to a site where it goes more in-depth of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs pyramid). People who can’t reach green and blue think because people can reach it that it's just because successful people are “lucky” or “they grew up in money” and that is the reason they can’t get out of the hamster wheel and become successful. I really enjoyed this speech as it helped me change my outlook on life. One of the things that stuck out the most to me was success isn't just money and fame, success is finding your purpose on this earth, everyone is born with a purpose. https://www.simplypsychology.org/maslow.html Another thing Mrs. Ludwig shared with us was with race car drivers. Race car drivers don't look at the walls or obstacles coming after them, they focus on what is right in front of them. That is what successful people do, they don't look at what is distracting them, they look at what's right in front of them to get the job done. Mrs. Ludwig shared with us “Wherever the driver looks is exactly where that racecar aims itself. Successful drivers diligently keep their eyes on where they want to go”. I hope to start senior year with all of these tips to finding my purpose in the world and to have a better mindset.

My One Word for the year of 2019 is Motivation. I choose this word because Motivation is something I lacked in 2018. I learned this about myself as I reflected back on last year. I want to make “motivation” a main focus for me personally and something I am going to work towards in 2019.
The meaning of the word Motivation to me means being able to put your best effort into everything you do. For me this would be school and academics, cheerleading, health and nutrition and my youtube channel. I want to set clear goals for myself and feel a sense of pride and accomplishment when I live up to my goals and expectations. For school, I am motivated to try my hardest and earn the best grades I can, as I prepare myself for college and the next chapter after high school. I am also motivated to eat clean and healthy and continue to workout and do my cross fit workouts to remain toned and in shape. For cheerleading I want to be the best team leader I can be, especially now as an upperclassman. I am also motivated to find a job this year. I am motivated to take on more responsibility and independence. I would like to find a job where I can make money to support the things I want to buy. This year I’m trying my best to be productive and being productive comes with motivation. |
